This is the largest annual parade in Pullman and and an opportunity to publicize sailing and the Club.  Classes start at WSU following this three day Festival.

The parade is Saturday, August 23 and starts at 11:00 am, with many events and activities preceding and following according to the schedule for the Lentil Festival.

The parade route is from the staging area down N Grande Ave, and then east up Main Street past on lookers, to exit Main St. northerly onto NE Spring St.

Staging Location

Club parade participants should be at the Staging Area by 9:30 am.  The many Parade Staff in orange vests will guide you to the Sail Club assembly location.

The Staging Area has been located about 300 N. Grand Ave., where the railroad tracks cross Grand Ave.

Food & Drink.  The Staging Area is handy to nearby food and drink vendors on sidewalks, parking lots, and in stores.

Activities

Publicity.  The hour and a half wait before the parade starts can be spent schmoozing with the public about the wonderfulness of sailing, and the Club.

The lead boat has our Club banners on both sides with our web site URL.

Also, “Only 2 gallons per season!” signs are attached to the sides of several boats.

Parade Activity.  Waving and smiling to the multitude.  No candy or other objects are allowed to be thrown from vehicles for safety concerns, but parade participants are allowed to walk along the sides of street and hand out items.
